My Background & Qualifications

I am a qualified counsellor with a diverse professional and academic background spanning education, community services and the creative industries. This multidisciplinary foundation informs a thoughtful, practical and person-centred approach to counselling, grounded in trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.

I have several years’ experience working with children, young people, adults and families in community-based and school-adjacent settings. My work commonly supports clients experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural challenges, school-related stress, relationship difficulties, grief and significant life transitions. I also work closely with parents and carers to develop practical strategies that support wellbeing both at home and within educational environments.

I hold a Master of Learning and Teaching, which has strengthened my understanding of child development, learning, behaviour and inclusive educational practice. This education-focused training supports my work with children and adolescents and allows me to collaborate effectively with schools, educators and support services, bridging emotional wellbeing and learning needs.

My earlier academic training in music, media and performance technology, along with postgraduate study in music industry management, artist development, and strategic management and leadership, has shaped a strong understanding of identity, creativity, performance pressure, motivation and systems-level thinking. These perspectives inform my work with clients navigating stress, self-esteem, performance anxiety, transitions, leadership responsibilities and role-related challenges.

In addition to counselling, I have extensive experience in case management, advocacy and collaborative practice with schools, allied health professionals and community organisations. This systems-based perspective helps ensure support is coordinated, realistic and aligned with each client’s broader context.
